Sonnet Cardi

The Sonnet Cardi is a drop shoulder style, open front cardigan. Its fabric is lightweight, and it's a great garment to throw on over your outfit on those chillier summer nights, or to wear whenever you want to add a little interest and detail to an otherwise neutral outfit! This cardi is crocheted in one piece from top to bottom, using fingering weight yarn. The pattern uses a special way to create the shoulder section, which shapes the shoulders and back neckline, so that the cardigan falls nicely on the shoulders when wearing it. The panels are worked in filet crochet, that creates a pattern of lines which together forms arrow-like patterns on the front and back. Between the panels sits detailed and textured band sections, that frames and enhances the filet crochet. Very little sewing is needed in this pattern - only a small bit at the back and under the armholes. The Sonnet Cardi pattern comes graded in 9 sizes. **Language** English (US terminology) **Skill level** Intermediate You will need to know how to work basic stitches, plus how to work in the back loop and front loop of a stitch. Special stitches are explained in the pattern, and so is how to read a filet crochet chart. A positive ease above 15 cm (6") allows for some extra fabric to have the front less open. Ease is the difference between the garment's finished chest circumference and your body's chest circumference.
