I felt it was important, as an ordinary citizen, to do what I could to encourage voter participation. Knowing what a powerful cohort the knitting community can be, I wanted to create a hat to get the message out. This pattern is free and I hope you will consider not only making a hat for all of your friends, but also to use it for fundraising to donate to candidates (school board candidates especially need funds!). There are four options for the stranded section (see the chart options). This hat uses bulky yarn for a fast knit and features colorwork in two colors for bold graphics. It’s a simple pattern and I hope that the stranded knitting is easy enough to encourage people who have never tried it to give it a go. Size: One size for adults Gauge: 15 sts and 20 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) with larger needles Needles: US 9 and US 10 (US 10 double pointed needed for crown shaping. Yarn: Bulky.
