Taylor Skirt

This is a crochet pattern in both UK and US crochet terms for you to crochet a simple yet beautiful skirt using an open lacy stitch pattern providing plenty of swish! Designed to be worn over a slip or underskirt, it could also be worn over swimwear at the beach. Made in one piece from the top down it can easily be made to any length. The above knee skirt photographed is made using just one fabulous ‘Scheepjes Whirl’ which is available in many gorgeous colours. However for the XL and 2XL sizes it may be necessary to use an additional matching ‘Scheepjes Whirlette’. The skirt in the photos is a size small and I used 1 x Scheepjes Whirl (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic, 220g/1000m) in the colourway ‘Scrumptious Lush’ (777). You can use other similar 4-ply weight yarns to achieve a similar effect. You'll also need: • 3.5mm (US E/4) hook or hook to match tension. • An 8mm (3/8inch) width length of dressmakers knit elastic for the waistband. The length needed will depend on waist circumference. • Stitch marker, yarn needle and scissors. The skirt can be made in sizes XS through to 2XL.
