Malaga hat

Using this pattern, you can make a classic crochet raffia hat. The hat is crocheted in single crochets from the top in the round. The pattern contains information on adjusting the sizing of the hat. Just take into consideration that it will increase the amount of raffia needed.  Recommended raffia is very soft - so you can easily take your hat and keep it in your suitcase - it will remain in shape. Also, this softness means a beautifully shaped brim! **SIZE:** ONE SIZE - adult size, head circumference approx. 55-56 cm [21.6-22’’]. The raffia is very stretchy - you can stretch it more with your hand after completion. **GAUGE:**  16 sts x 19 rounds = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4’’] in single crochet on 3 mm hook. The hat is made in the round so it is recommended that the swatch is also made in the round. Swatch made flat may have a different number of stitches. **CROCHET HOOK:** 3 mm crochet hook. **YARN:** 3 balls of Nakyangyarn DAOL (100% paper, 50 g / 97 m [106 yds]) or other raffia yarn of similar weight. **NOTIONS:**  Stitch marker, darning needle, scissors, grosgrain ribbon and decorative ribbon (optional).
