Djo

This sweater is inspired by the geometric modernist style of 1920’s textile designer Elise Djo-Bourgeois, with its combination of circles, squares and triangles in a mix of pastels and more contrasting colours on a base of white. The use of mohair to knit the motifs replicates her block-prints: the sharp lines softened by a slight bleeding, giving an artisanal and irregular look. Seamless and knit in the round from the top down, you will be constantly amused by the changing patterns as you knit. The shape is modern and loose, with a slit at the back neck ribbing to ensure a relaxed neckline, the cropped body is balanced out with generous sleeves that taper at the cuff, by knitting visible decreases into the ribbing.
