* The Chantal top is worked top-down in a slip stitch pattern. It begins with the left and right backs, which are worked separately. Stitches are then cast on for the neck at the back, and these sections are joined to continue working the back flat. Next, stitches are picked up to knit the right and left fronts separately. After this, stitches are cast on for the front neck, and these are joined to work the front flat. Once these parts are completed, stitches are cast on for the underarms, and the knitting is joined in the round to work the body. Next, stitches are divided in half, and the front and back are worked separately to shape the side slits.
