Mama Chicken Surprise!

Mama Chicken Surprise is a crochet pattern using continuous rounds to create mama and her chick that can hatch from an egg! Both the egg and the chick fit in mama's pouch. Designed using Bernat Baby Blanket, but feel free to change yarn types. Select a hook size that works for the yarn chosen. With Bernat Baby Blanket, a 6.5mm hook is suggested. Gauge is not crucial to this pattern. Pattern calls for 3-4 colors of your chosen yarn: 1. Mama - approximately 70-80 yds 2. Baby (if a different color is desired) - approximately 10-15yds 3. Mama's comb/crown - approximately 2 yds or less 4. Egg - approximately 15-20 yds You can use one of the other colors chosen for the facial details (mouths for mama and baby). Other materials suggested: Stitch Marker Scissors Polyfil Stuffing Safety Eyes - 16mm for mama and 12mm for baby Needle for sewing details and for weaving in ends
