Lily's Scrap Blanket

**March 15, 2017 Update to Pattern - the order of Rows 1 and 2 should be reversed, i.e. after picking up and knitting the stitches from the i-cord cast on, your next row worked should be a *wrong* side row** LILY’S SCRAP BLANKET is more of a recipe or formula for creating a chevron striped blanket than a rigid pattern. It is an excellent way to use leftover yarn of similar weight to create a colorful, cozy baby blanket, couch throw or other warm home accessory. An i-cord edge provides a smooth and structured border while the chevron stripes give it a playful and visually interesting look. This recipe is easily customizable for different yarn weights and to create a finished piece of whatever size you choose. The sample was made with a mix of different sock yarns in 2 and 4 ply construction. Prior to beginning, varying amounts (from approximately 9 to 30 grams) of yarn were joined together and wound into “monster yarn cakes” to be used for this project. Instructions for making these "monster yarn cakes" are included. You may do something similar, or you may join your yarn as you go. Note: This pattern has not been tech edited or tested.
