Hannah Cardigan My Size

The Hannah Cardigan is knit top down in half fisherman’s rib with a double knit button band. What is unique to this cardigan is it utilizes 2 different gauges. The body is knit with 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held double to achieve a DK gauge. You then pick up stitches along the front edges of the cardigan, and begin double knitting with a single strand of the fingering yarn to create a double thick button band. There is also a modified option to create a more classic ribbed button band. This is the option to use if you decide to utilise a DK weight for the entirety of the garment. The sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole, then evenly spaced decreases are worked along the length of the sleeve. Simple 1x1 ribbing finishes off both sleeves and bottom hem.
