Cloudy Turtleneck

Cloudy is a close-fitting, lightweight turtleneck worked seamlessly from the top down. The yoke is shaped with increases along four raglan lines, while short-row back-neck shaping provides a comfortable and balanced fit. The airy mohair fabric is exceptionally light, soft, fluffy, and warm. The slim silhouette makes Cloudy easy to wear on its own or as a layering piece under a blazer, coat, or other outerwear. The sample is worked in Kremke Kid Cotton. Skill level: Advanced intermediate. Sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL), corresponding to sizes 42 (44, 46, 48, 50, 52). Recommended body bust circumference: XS / 42: 80–84 cm; S / 44: 84–88 cm; M / 46: 88–92 cm; L / 48: 92–96 cm; XL / 50: 96–100 cm; XXL / 52: 100–104 cm. The garment is designed to be worn with approximately 4–6 cm of positive ease. Choose one of the following yarns: - Kremke Kid Cotton — 65% mohair, 35% cotton (25 g / 210 m); - Kremke Silky Kid RMS — 72% mohair, 28% silk (25 g / 210 m); - Filcolana Tilia — 70% kid mohair, 30% silk (25 g / 210 m); - Rowan Kidsilk Haze — 70% mohair, 30% silk (25 g / 210 m); - DROPS Kid-Silk — 75% mohair, 25% silk (25 g / 210 m); - Lana Grossa Silkhair — 70% superkid mohair, 30% silk (25 g / 210 m); - Permin Angel — 70% kid mohair, 30% silk (25 g / 210 m); - Isager Silk Mohair — 75% mohair, 25% silk (25 g / 212 m); - Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair — 70% mohair, 30% silk (25 g / 225 m). Yarn required, including the swatch: 5 (5, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins. Needles and notions: - 3.25 mm circular needles with cable lengths ranging from 40 to 100 cm; - needles suitable for working small circumferences; - an additional cable or waste yarn for holding the sleeve sts; - waste yarn for two provisional underarm chains; - crochet hook suitable for the waste yarn; - stitch markers; - tapestry needle; - measuring tape; - scissors. The needle size is a recommendation only. Use the needle size required to obtain the stated gauge after blocking. Gauge: 23 sts × 33 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch using 3.25 mm needles, after blocking. The pattern includes: - complete written instructions for six sizes, XS–XXL; - a technical schematic with finished garment measurements; - separate raglan and short-row marker diagrams for every size; - detailed short-row back-neck-shaping instructions; - photo tutorials for the main construction techniques; - links to video tutorials for selected techniques; - instructions for forming the underarms and picking up the sleeve sts; - instructions for a decorative bind-off that helps prevent the stockinette edge from curling.
