The pattern has been updated in November 2024 to include both DK and Fingering sizing. There are 2 separate files that you can download. Fingering gauge 32 stitches over 4"/10cm on 2.25mm DK gauge 23 stitches over 4"/10cm on 3.25mm The deep, dark colours of the yarns needed bold motifs to show up the stitch pattern. It is my favourite kind of sock with a little bit of interest but lots of plain knitting that shows off the yarn. Written and charted instructions are included. Don’t have DK sock yarn? Grab some fingering weight yarn and hold it double to make your socks. Choose a fine fingering with yardage between 420 & 465 yards. If this is your first time knitting DK socks, check your gauge and size your needles accordingly. The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration. The sock pattern comes in 3 sizes, in both Fingering and DK and is knit from the top down with a heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe. If you are knitting the DK version, the size large with a larger foot (eg. Men’s or Women's size 9 and larger), you may need a contrast colour for heels, toes and cuffs or you can make the leg shorter.
