St Patrick's gonk gnome wreath

For this St Patricks wreath I mainly used Stylecraft special Aran but any Aran/4 medium weight worsted will work for this pattern. I used Stylecraft dk for the outside of the beard Shamrock motifs. Any dk/3 light weight yarn will work for this Aran Spice - (wreath cover and beard) 140g Aran Green - (hat) 70g Aran Parchment - (nose) 10g Aran Black - (belt on hat) 30g Dk/3 weight yarn copper - (outside of beard motifs) 30g Dk/3 weight yarn yellow - (buckle on hat) 15g Dk/3 weight yarn Green - (4 leaf clover) small amount Drops safran/ fine 2 weight yarn white and black (Guinness) small amount Heart button for envelope (optional.) Small amount of Toy stuffing for your gonk’s nose and Guinness. 20cm/8inches polystyrene wreath. If you struggle to find an 8 inch wreath ring you can use a slightly bigger size. You may need to work a few more chains at the beginning of making the hat. **Useful items** Stitch markers Stitch counter Darning needle **Hooks required** 2.00mm 2.5mm 3.5mm 4.00 mm 4.5mm This pattern uses US terms and is worked in a spiral so using stitch markers is highly recommended

sc = single crochet hdc = half double crochet dc = double crochet tr = treble crochet inc = increase 2 stitches in one stitch 
dec = decrease. (crochet 2 stitches together) FLO = work in the front loop only BLO = work in the back loop only The finished St Patricks Gonk wreath, will measure approximately Length 20 inches/ 50cms Width 10 inches / 25cms This will of course vary with weights of yarn and hook/tension. I used a 20cm/8.5inches wreath ring but you could use a different sizes. This pattern is easy to follow but requires basic crochet knowledge. It is written in US terms but easy to convert to UK.
