The original version has a pleated edging, textured lace, and short rows. An alternate version is just like the original but without short rows. The EZ ("easy") version has the pleated edging but uses a simple knit and purl pattern for the body of the cowl, and the EZ for guys version has the same knit and purl pattern but with a simple garter edging. See the 4 options labeled in the first photo. There are 2 pdfs. The "lacey version" is for the original and the alternate versions and the "EZ version" is for the EZ and EZ for guys versions. **Skills required** Long-tail cast-on Knitting in the round Decreases Yarn overs (optional) German short rows (optional) **Approximate measurements in inches** **Lacey versions -** Height in front: 12.5/9 (original version/non short-row version) Height in back: 8.5 Circumference at top: 19.5 Bottom circumference: 26 ***EZ versions -*** Approximately 22” around at the base, 20” around at the top, and 9” tall after blocking **Materials** Approximately 220-270 yards of DK-weight yarn. 270 for the original version, 255 for the alternate version without short rows, 250 for the EZ version, and 220 for the EZ for guys version 24” US 5/3.75 mm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge. The entire project can be worked on 24” circulars but the long cast-on and pleated edging for all but the EZ for guys version will be easier to manage on a longer cable Stitch markers, including 1 locking marker if working the pleated edging Lifeline (use a thinner yarn or floss) for lacey versions Tapestry needle for weaving in ends This pattern was originally released as the 2023 Just for You 10 MKAL.
