A classic fitted beanie using 2 shades of Spiral Grain for a reversible hat with a Latvian braid edge detail. **Materials:** Spiral Grain Sport, 1 (1, 2) skein(s) for each color, Shown in Katsura as C1, Sycamore as C2 *(see Construction Notes)* **Sizes:** 1 (2, 3) with 18 (19, 20)" / 45.5 (48.25, 51) cm circumference (unstretched) to fit 19-20 (20-21, 21-22)" / 48.25-51 (51-53, 53-56) cm head circumference, 9.5” / 24.25 cm height from Latvian braid edge to crown, Size 2 shown in the pattern **Needle:** US 2.5 / 3.00 mm (24” / 60 cm long) circulars and DPNs or longer needles to work magic loop easily; or size needed to obtain gauge **Notions:** 8 stitch markers (including one unique marker for beginning of round), tapestry needle **Gauge:** 30 sts x 42 rounds in Stockinette stitch = 4’’/ 10 cm square, steam blocked **Skill level:** Easy **Techniques:** Stockinette stitch, circular cast on, increases and decreases, Latvian braid **Construction Notes:** *Dubblo* starts from the crown of the first layer with a circular cast on and continues to the body after stitches are increased. 2-color Latvian braid is worked where the 2 layers are intersecting before starting the second layer in C2. The work continues with the body of the second layer and finishes with stitch decreases for the crown of the second layer, mirroring the first layer. *1 skein of Spiral Grain Sport for each color may not be enough for the largest size. So, consider having 2nd skeins if working the largest size or if a longer beanie is desired.
