Rain or Shine Blanket

*Gather a colorful collection of fingering weight yarns to knit this stashbusting marled blanket. Always hold two strands of fingering weight yarn together and change one color at a time for a Fading Marl effect. Garter stitch and slipped stitches create a simple rain drop effect. The project begins at the corner with increases at each edge. Once you reach the center widest part of the blanket, decreases at each edge shape the other half of the blanket to form a square. You can use as many colors as you like using singles skeins or leftover color pops from your stash.* **Sizes** Baby Blanket (Large Blanket) **Finished Measurements** 28 (46)″ / 71 (117)cm wide, 34 (60)″ / 86 (152)cm from CO corner to BO corner, measured along the center of the blanket as you are knitting it. Measurements taken after blocking. The size is customizable. **Yarn** Fingering weight Hold 2 strands of fingering weight yarn throughout the entire fabric. **Yardage** Approximately 2800 (4800)yds / 2560 (4389)m total The sample features 18 skeins of yarn for a large blanket size. **Shown in** A variety of fingering weight yarns Fingering weight yarn is held double throughout the blanket, producing a DK weight fabric thickness. **Needles** US 7 / 4.5mm circular in 40″ / 100cm length or size needed to obtain gauge **Notions** Tapestry needle **Gauge** 24 sts & 44 rows = 4″ / 10cm in garter stitch slip stitch pattern after blocking. Gauge is not crucial for this project as long as you achieve a fabric that feels good to you.
