This impressive landmark is now a world-famous hiking/cycling trail, highlighted by two tunnels, eighteen trestle bridges, and breathtaking views. The hat that's always in style! This striking hat's trestle-inspired twists wind their way from brim to top before transitioning into a sophisticated twisted-rib crown. A faux fur pompom adds a fun finishing touch. **| SIZING |** **Sizes:** 1 (2, 3) **To fit:** 18 (21, 24)” / 45.5 (53.5, 61)cm **| FINISHED MEASUREMENTS |** **Circ:** 15 (18, 21)” / 38 (45.5, 53.5)cm **Beanie Length:** 8 (8½, 9)” / 20.5 (21.5, 23)cm **Slouchy Length:** 10 (10½, 11)” / 25.5 (26.5, 28)cm All measurements taken unstretched after blocking. Choose finished circumference that allows for 10–20% (2–5" / 2.5–12.5cm, depending on size) of negative ease, depending on personal preference. **| YARDAGE REQUIREMENTS |** **DK/Light Worsted weight yarn:** 120–215y/110–195m (50–90g), depending on size and style knit. The cabled texture shows best with a solid, tonal, kettle-dyed, or lightly speckled colourway. **| GAUGE/SUGGESTED NEEDLES |** 20 st over 4” / 10cm in stockinette and 21 st over 4” / 10cm in pattern, with larger needles, after blocking. **Needles:** 4.5mm (US 7), **or size needed to obtain listed gauge; AND** 3.75mm (US 5), or two sizes smaller than size needed to obtain listed gauge, in preferred style for working in the round. **| MATERIALS |** **Suggested yarn:** House of a la Mode House DK Single Ply (100% merino; single-ply; 240y/220m per 100g), or any DK/light worsted weight yarn of similar yardage and weight. **Shown in:** Daydreams (adult S, slouchy). **Notions:** stitch markers, darning needle.
