Chainmail Coif (Helmet and Cowl)

This is a mock chainmail coif that I created for a stage production of Spamalot. It was worn successfully by both children and adults using this same pattern, though adjusting the number of rows for the face opening can further fit this to an individual's preferences if needed. I found that the less expensive the yarn, the better the "chainmail" looked, as the pattern stood out more with stiffer yarn. I was able to get roughly four coifs out of each one pound skein. This is the first pattern I've tried to capture for others, and I hope it's legible. Please don't hesitate to give me feedback!
