These socks were designed as a prize for additional category (hence "Surprise") of "Sock Challenge Cup" contest. One sock is worked cuff-down while the other is toe-up. Both have patterned arc-expansion area with modified square heel turn, and toe in pattern. **Techniques Used:** * Magic Loop * following charts * twisted-stitch knitting * [invisible circular beginning][1] (detailed instructions are **not included**) * [modified interlock bind-off][2] * shadow wraps * lifted increases * Judy's magic cast-on, grafting (optional) *Semki* means "sunflower seeds" in Russian and was contributed by [Oksana][3]. - - - **UPDATES** *Note 31-Oct-2017: Pattern update 1.06 available: On Cuff-down sock, it should be 39 stitches on Needle 1 after rearrangement for the heel turn.
