Just Knit It - 2012

Once the 2012 games started I realised that I needed something to knit that wouldn't require any concentration at all. So I made this and wrote up some instructions in case you want to make one. ----------------------------------- All rows are exactly the same. The only stitches used are knit and knit front and back (kfb). The original idea was to alternate one solid yarn with one self-striping - maximum impact, minimum effort - but you could use just one colour or lots. You'll need a total of approx. 440yds/400m of yarn (any weight, one, two or more colours, combine different weights for an interesting effect). You will knit bottom-up so you can just stop when you run out of yarn or when you like the size. The shawl can be knit with no border, but for a more polished look, you can choose from 3 options for tidying the edges - all quick and easy. Or improvise your own - some stunning examples already...
