You can use any yarn, and a hook a size (or three) larger than normal, and go to town - although I usually make this in worsted or bulky yarns, it looks stunning in mohair and multi-strands of sock yarns. Very fast to work up, you can make a stocking in 3 hours. No gauge given specifically in the pattern. As shown, design uses two colors of yarn but quantities are not specified.
