It is not a tight fit around the armhole openings and is meant to be a more open and comfortable style. You can crochet around the arm holes if you want to to tighten it up. Instructions are for small/medium and large/extra large, with additional instructions to add more to the outer circle if desired, adding length for tall torsos and more coverage for plus size. Approximate yardage for the small/medium without the additional collar increase is listed at 510 yards. And the 710 yards is approximately what you'll need for the large/extra large with the additional collar increase. I would recommend buying extra yarn in case you want the extra coverage.
