Finished hat circumference: 38 (41, 44, 46.5, 49, 52) cm/15 (16, 17.25, 18.25, 19.25, 20.5) in. Finished length: 12 (15, 16, 17, 19, 20) cm/4.75 (6, 6.25, 6.75, 7.5, 8) in. Shown in size 2 (yellow hat) and size 6 (green hat). **Gauge** (blocked) Stockinette Stitch: 22 sts and 30 rnds = 10 cm/4 in, with larger needle. 2x2 Rib Pattern: 23 sts and 32 rnds = 10 cm/4 in, with smaller needle. **Yarn** 100 (100, 100, 100, 150, 150) m/110 (110, 110, 110, 165, 165) yds of soft DK weight yarn: wool, cotton or acrylic. For best results use smooth yarn with good stitch definition. Green hat was made in KnitPicks Swish DK (100% merino wool, 112 m/123 yds per 50 g ball, col. Peapod), yellow hat was made in recycled cotton. **Needles and Notions** 4 mm and 3.25 mm (US sizes 6 and 3) needles in your preferred style for knitting small circumferences, 8 (10, 8, 10, 12, 14) removable stitch markers plus 1 marker of any type, 3.5 mm (US size E) crochet hook. **Skills Needed** Working in the round, yarn-overs, decreases.
