Runner Beanie

I designed this hat for running. It is thin, light, and washable, and doesn't have holes in it. It weighs an ounce and can be carried in a small pocket. Since I don't care for hats that cover my ears, it is short. Many thanks to my wife Sharon ([sharonf][1] on Ravelry), who knit it for me. She suggested using Judy's Magic caston to start, which doesn't leave a hole or bump. Sharon also translated my handwritten pattern into the neatly organized document available here and added clarifications to the second edition of the pattern.
