Newborn Hats for Hospitals

This is a simple newborn baby hat pattern that can be knit up quickly on straight needles with worsted weight "4" yarn and is easy enough for beginners. If you have a local hospital that accepts donations of newborn hats to their maternity ward, this pattern is perfect for that purpose too. These tiny hats will fit a newborn up to about 10 weeks old and can be knit in solids or stripes. The free pattern includes instructions for three different stripe patterns but it's easy to adapt to your own ideas for colorwork as well. They make a darling addition to a baby gift too.
