Powerful Puff Scrubby

Puff stitches can create an amazingly thick stitch. The thickness of your puff stitch can be varied to make them bigger or smaller. They are perfect stitches for a face pad or scrubby. Scrubbies are great for removing make up or for cleansing your face. They are reusable and washable and great for the environment. Each scrubby uses approximately 12g of yarn so they are also handy for using up those last few scraps of cotton yarn. The scrubbies can be created in one colour or multiple colours in order to use up all your scrap cotton yarn. The pattern is for one size but you can use a bigger or smaller yarn weight with the appropriate hook size to create larger or smaller scrubbies. The scrubby is created in the round without turning. Gauge is not important in this pattern. It will just make your scrubby a different size or vary the amount of yarn you use. Gauge is however calculated from the centre of the scrubby and is 4.75cm to the edge of the scrubby after 4 rounds. This is using worsted weight (10ply) yarn and a 5mm hook and creating a scrubby 9.5cm wide I used Hobbii 8/8 cotton yarn which is slightly thicker than standard DK cotton yarn. If using DK yarn 50g/100m then the scrubby will be slightly smaller in size.
