Raunioiset Cowl

A cowl pattern inspired by the Maidenhair Spleenwort fern, a species of fern that grows on rock. It is knitted completely seamlessly, using fine knitting techniques. **Size:** One size (adult) **Measurements without blocking:** top edge circumference 58 cm / 23 inches length of the scarf (neck) 24 cm / 9 ½ inches length of the scarf (front) 53 cm / 21 inches **Needles and extras:** 3.5 mm / US4 circular needle, 80 cm / 32 inches (2 sets) 13 stitch markers Darning needle **Gauge:** 20 sts x 44 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 inches garter stitch (without stretching) **Yarn:** Sport-weight wool or merino wool yarn **Yardage:** 135g or 480 m / 525 yards Finnsheep carding wool yarn Piessan Indy (360 m/100g) A couple of meters / yards of scrap yarn for Provisional Cast On **Techniques:** The tube scarf is started with Provisional Cast On. It is knit flat and connected into a tube with Kitchener stitches. The connection point remains invisible. An I-cord edge, knitted at the same time as the main piece, runs along the edge of the work. The pattern of the scarf is knitted in garter stitch, with raised stitches, long stitches and braids. **Pattern is video supported.
