Solid sample shown in discontinued 100% Bluefaced Leicester aran, 80m per 50g ball. *For modification notes for scrappy mohair version, see **[my project page][1]**.* **YARN (striped version):** worsted / aran weight yarn, approx 771 (829; 904; 966; 1039) (1109; 1214; 1287; 1348) metres / 843 (907; 989; 1056; 1136) (1213; 1328; 1407; 1474) yards of **main colour** and approx 128 (138; 151; 161; 173) (185; 202; 214; 225) metres / 140 (151; 165; 176; 189) (202; 221; 234; 246) yards of **contrast colour**. Stripe sample shown in AXIS by Lily Kate (90% merino, 10% suri alpaca, 100m per 50g skein) in shades Albedo (MC) and Event Horizon (CC). If using this yarn, you will need 8 (9; 10; 10; 11) (12; 13; 13; 14) skeins of MC and 2 (2; 2; 2; 2) (2; 3; 3; 3) skeins of CC. **GAUGE:** 18 sts and 25 rows to 4 inches / 10 cm in stocking stitch blocked. Suggested size 5 mm. **NEEDLES & NOTIONS:** * 4.5mm & 5mm 16” / 40cm circular needle for neckband. * 4.5mm & 5mm circular needles of varying lengths for yoke & body * 4.5mm & 5mm needle(s) of your preferred method for working small in the round (ie. DPNs, short circulars, magic loop) for sleeves * Stitch markers * Tapestry needle * Scrap yarn **SIZING:** 1 (2; 3; 4; 5) (6; 7; 8; 9) detailed below, designed to be worn with between 10-12 inches / 25-30 cm positive ease. Sample shown is a size 2 worn on a 34” bust with approx 10” positive ease. Since this is already a generously fitting garment, if you are between sizes, size down. **To fit bust:** 28-30 (32-34; 36-38; 40-42; 44-46) (48-50; 52-54; 56-58; 60-62) inches / 71-76 (81-86; 91-97; 102-107; 112-117) (122-127; 132-137; 142-147; 152-157) cm. **Finished bust:** 41 (45; 49; 53; 57) (61; 65; 69; 73) inches / 104 (114; 124; 135; 145) (155; 165; 175; 185) cm. **Construction:** the Movement sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down using a raglan construction with eyelet details. The eyelet detail continues down the sides of the body, which is worked without shaping. Short rows are used to dip the back hem slightly, before the body is finished with 1x1 rib and a tubular edging. Held sleeve stitches are replaced on the needle and stitches are picked up across the underarm ready to work the sleeves in the round. The sleeves are tapered using decreases, before a final decrease round creates a gentle gather into the cuff. Folded cuffs mimic the folded neckband. Instructions for both a **solid** and **striped** version are included in the pattern. **Yarn choices:** this sweater would work well in many different yarn types. The solid sample used 100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, but other textures such as wool blends, acrylic, blown yarns, and DK held with mohair could also work. I would not recommend using particularly slippy yarns (such as bamboo or mercerised cotton) as these will make for a heavy garment that may stretch out of shape and grow in length as worn.
