Sandby Strawberry Baby Hat

An intermediate knitting pattern for a sweet #strawberry Baby/ Toddler Hat. This is a pattern that requires magic loop technique and some basic knitting knowledge. Chart for each size and written pattern included in the PDF. This pattern is available in a scale for Newborn, 1-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 12 months- 2yrs. Popular in Scandinavia, you see many children wearing #strawberryhat and blueberry hats (the same but using blue main color yarn opposed to red). Traditionally they have a curled stockinette brim and have a small stem adorning the top. This version has curved leaves achieved through the method of reductions to add an extra polished look. I named my version the Sandby Hat as I spent all of my childhood summers by the small beachside village of Sandby. My summer memories were filled with a salty sea breeze, the smell of house paint and the sweet taste of strawberries in milk sprinkled with sugar.
