Cable Hat

A simple cable hat, knit in the round, is great for cable beginners. The use of bulky yarn allows for the hat to be completed quickly and gives a soft and cozy texture. The high crown and blunt top makes for a good place for a pompom to be seated. Size: Adult, circumference 20 - 24” (50.8 - 71 cm), length 9” (22.8 cm) Materials: Bulky weight yarn, approximately 120 - 137 yards (80 - 100 grams), Size 9 (5.5 mm) and 10.5 (6.5 mm) DPNs, tapestry needle, pompom (optional) Gauge: 14 stitches and 20 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette. Adjust needle size to obtain gauge OR increase needle size for larger hat, decrease needle size for smaller hat.
