Bonny Mitts

You can practically smell the stacks of old books and leather armchairs that populate the library in your mind as you wear these classic tweed fingerless mitts. This project is incredibly easy and suitable for advanced beginners as well as more seasoned crocheters looking for a fun and quick project. These mitts are worked sideways, in turned rows, and slip stitched together to form a tube. A change in stitch pattern at each end creates the ribbing. For certain sizes, the thumbhole is noticeably closer to the ending row. This is a result of the extra rows worked before the thumbhole row (compared to after the thumbhole row). This pushes the side seam slightly toward the underside or palm of the hand, but do not worry — it isn’t very noticeable. In order to make a right and a left hand, one mitt is seamed with the last row worked toward the inside, and one mitt is seamed with the last row worked toward the outside.
