Storm Hood

STORM HOOD A storm is brewing, and so is your tea… but what’s this? You’ve run out of milk. Bound by honour and duty, you set off to the shops and prepare to battle the elements - your head ensconced in fluffy, elegant, comfort. Utilitarian and cozy, the Storm Hood functions as both a head covering and a cowl, providing plenty of coverage in treacherous weather. Meanwhile, the slouchy proportions create a silhouette infused with drama. A tad medieval, a tad toddlery, a tad glamorous, a tad playful… the Storm Hood combines references from history and fantasy, for a uniquely charming accessory. The main pattern file includes standard instructions in 4 sizes, as well a recipe for knitting with any yarn/ at any gauge. In addition, there is a supplement explaining how to add a Storm Hood to a variety of sweater patterns. ....... Note: This pattern's latest update ( c.January 2025), resolved an error in the crown decreases that was introduced during an earlier update. Proportions and fit have also been improved. Be sure you download the most recent version. ....... MATERIALS & INFORMATION 
 CONSTRUCTION Worked bottom-up. The neck and lower part of the Hood are worked in the round. The upper part of the hood is then worked flat, with integrated edgings. Several options are provided for finishing the crown, including 3 needle bind-off and grafting. Note that the design of this hood is not compatible with steeking. SIZES Size 1 (2, 3, 4)
