> This pattern has been test knitted and > technically edited. "Aze ami Vest" is a Half Brioche Stitch vest worked from the top down. It’s an oversized V-neck drop-shoulder vest for layered look, and the tip of V and the armhole borders have neat finishing. The word "Aze" is a Japanese word that refers to partitions in paddy field made by stacking soil or a ridge and brioche stitches is also called "Aze Ami" = "Aze stitch". It starts with the back piece, then stitches for the front are picked up from the back shoulder, and the back and front are worked flat to the underarms, then joined and worked in the round to the hem. The neck band and the armhole borders are worked, from picked up stitches, the round. The body can be shortened or extended to your liking (note that the required amount of yarn will change).
