Amy's Choice Pompom Beanie Set

The pattern has been updated to include Fingerless Mitts, which like the beanie, is worked from the bottom band up. A pompom is added to the top of the beanie. I love trying different types of pompoms that can be purchased or handmade. Cascade 128 Superwash Merino Wool was used in this design, and Plymouth Encore Chunky is a good substitution. The fiber content will affect gauge if substituting yarn, and the pattern suggests ways to get gauge. Also, the size of the beanie and mitts may be changed if using a lighter or heavier weight yarn. Lastly, you will learn a new stitch, double half double crochet, dhdc, which is a variation of a puff stitch. ***Have fun with it!***
