Mountain Trail Hat

The Mountain Trail Tweed Hat is a free crochet pattern on my blog. This hat uses a unique stitch combination to create a woven appearance. Hat is worked side-to-side in rows to make a rectangle which is then folded together, seamed and top of hat sewn together. Hat is worked by alternating colors from two yarn cakes or by working both ends of the same yarn cake, switching colors every second row. Perfect pairing with self-striping yarn but could also be made in a single color or with alternating two solid colors. No worries about a ton of ends to weave in at the end with the color changes as yarn is dropped and then pulled back into work at the end. Yarn floats are covered in the seaming process! Instructions included for size Adult Small, Medium and Large but could easily be adjusted to any size.
