Granny Christmas Stockings

This simple stocking ornament is based on the traditional granny square, with some adaptations to one edge to make the boot/stocking shape. I used DK yarn with a 5.5mm hook (to keep them nice and loose for stuffing) but you can use any hook and yarn combination you like. This is great for beginners. On the second page I've included a chart with a key to symbols, as well as brief instructions on how to make each stitch. Even if you're very new to crochet, you shouldn't have any problems making this pattern. These make great tree ornaments and you can pop a small chocolate or other confectionery inside too.
