Scrappy Striber

Get ready to use up all your scraps! All the small pieces of wonderful - your leftovers from projects, mini skeins and yarn swaps - they can all come to life in Scrappy Striber! Use as few or as many colors as you like; make repetitive stripes or paint randomly with your yarn – Scrappy Striber is your canvas. The pattern is written for a 20 stitches x 28 rows gauge. This gauge can be met in a number of different yarns: fingering, sport, DK, Worsted – and also with two finer yarns held together. It all depends on the kind of material you want; airy and drapy, or a tighter knit. Pull out all your most precious scraps and start playing! As an extra bonus I have included a recipe for adding long sleeves. This is just a very general recipe, and not a part of the pattern itself. There is a little waist shaping to make the top somewhat fitted, but the drapy material will still give it a relaxed feel. It is easy to adjust the length of both body and sleeves, but that will of course affect the yardage. You will get the best result by adding full stripes – one stripe measures approximately 1 inch. Yardage 710-710-710 (1066-1066-1066) 1420-1420-1420 yd / 650-650-650 (975-975-975) 1300-1300-1300 meters sports- or fingering weight yarn. You can use many different types of yarn for Scrappy Striber, but of course the yardage will vary depending on the yarn. Suggested needles 2.75 mm/US circular, 80 cm/31 inch for the ribbing (using Magic Loop where needed). 4 mm/US circular, 80 cm/31 inch for body and sleeves (using Magic Loop where needed). Gauge 20 stitches x 28 rounds in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 inches. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain gauge!
