No gauge is given in the pattern, which basically says to crochet a circle until it's big enough, then stop increasing to make the hat, and crochet enough rounds so the hat has a brim you like. I entered the gauge based on the one hat I have laying around, which was made with a larger hook and two strands of light worsted weight cotton yarn.
