Catch of the Day is inspired by Reddit's r/knitting trend of taking pictures with finished socks as if they're a recently caught fish. The whimsy of the trend required an equally whimsical pattern! This pattern has a continuous scale pattern across the body of the fish, an eye socket so you know where to sew on the eyes (as well as the option to omit button eyes), fins, and curled lips! Sizes in Pattern: Child’s Large/Woman's Small (approximately women’s shoe size US 5-7) Woman's Medium (approximately women’s shoe size US 7.5-9) Woman's Large/Men's Small (approximately women’s shoe size US 9.5-10) Materials Needed: • Color A: 350-460 yards sock weight yarn o (Pattern used Red Heart’s Stardust in Coral) • Color B: 50-100 yards sock weight yarn o (Pattern used Knitpick’s Stroll Glimmer in Blush) • Color C: 50 yards sock weight yarn o (Pattern used Knitpick’s Stroll in Pucker) • (4) 5/8th inch buttons • (4) US1DPN • (4) US2DPN • Tapestry/Yarn Needle Gauge: Stockinette Stitch on US 2s: 8 stitches & 10 rows in 1" (Gauge is not crucial to this pattern, and a slightly larger gauge will be fine.
