Aeshna Mitts

*A symbol of transformation, dragonflies typically spend the first few years of their lives underwater as aquatic nymphs, and undergo a series of molts before their final emergence as winged adults. The Aeshna Mitts pattern borrows its name from a genus of dragonflies and is inspired by this process of transition — rising from a prior stage of life and assuming a new form. *This pattern may be knit in solid colors or by pairing a solid and gradient yarn, emphasizing the transformational nature of the subject. The intricate stranded design on the back of each mitt wraps around to meet a chevron pattern on the palm side. This pattern is recommended for knitters who have experience with stranded knitting, reading charts, and knitting in the round. The solid color sample was knit in KnitPicks Palette (100% Peruvian Highland Wool) in colorways Finnley Heather and Clematis Heather.
