Faraway hat

The Faraway hat is a fun colourful bobble hat which can be made in just two evenings using your DK yarn stash. It comes in 3 sizes from age 8 to mens - see size chart below. You will soon be whipping up multiple versions for the whole family! The Faraway hat is written in UK crochet terms, and is intermediate level (all new stitches are explained in the abbreviations), and there are step by step photos to help you. You will need a 4mm hook, 4 x stitch markers, yarn needle and a 6cm wide pom pom maker. The most suitable yarn for this project is a thick DK - I have used Hayfield Bonus 100 DK for most of the hats featured. *Tip: If you are using a thinner DK and struggling to get gauge, then it is best to make a bigger size hat, rather than go up a hook size - as the hat needs to be dense, with no big gaps between stitches.
