A nicely textured beginner friendly rectangular pattern worked from the middle, combining rounds of DC Sedge stich with rounds of DC. Works well with any DK or worsted weight yarn. I used Caron One Pound, which created a fairly heavy and substantial blanket. I also used a basic #4 cotton that looked good as a placemat in the same pattern.
