Gritty Washcloth

• DESCRIPTION: This is an easy pattern that uses basic stitches to make a complex looking texture. It uses a bit more yarn , but it is well worth it. Easy to resize, this stitch would also make a great baby blanket. • GAUGE & SIZING: Gauge isn’t very important in this project. Play around with hook sizes until you find one that makes a fabric you like. This pattern is written to produce a washcloth roughly 10 inches by 10 inches. If you would like to change the size, simply chain the width you’d like, making sure it's a multiple of 2, then add 1, then 2 more chains. • ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES USED: ch = chain sk = skip st = stitch SC = single crochet DC = double crochet ** = Repeat the instructions inside the asterisks the indicated number of times. () Stitches within the parentheses are all worked into the same stitch { } The number inside brackets indicates the number of stitches in the row • MATERIALS: About 120 yards of cotton or cotton blend yarn (Such as Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran or Dishie from WeCrochet) A 4.0 mm (G/6) hook Tapestry needle for weaving in ends Stitch markers if desired.
