Generations Short Socks

These warm and fluffy socks are inspired by countless generations of knitters who have been using basic patterns in contrasting colours to create unique, beautiful and practical knitwear. I love the traditional diamond shapes which have been used for hundreds, possibly over a thousand, years as evidenced by some very old preserved pieces of knitting (although created using a different technique to the knitting we know today). These basic patterns have been adopted and adapted by knitting cultures all over the world uniting the knitting community through time and across geographies. I hope you will feel this connectedness to other knitters when you work these socks. The Generations Short Socks are worked cuff down in an Aran weight yarn using double pointed needles. The pattern is sized for EU 37-39 (UK 4-6 / US 6-8).
