The Stella Hat features the star stitch (and a variation I call the small star stitch). It is worked top down in the round, and I've included a video tutorial showing how to work the star stitches. The PDF includes instructions for sizes Toddler (17"), Child (19"), Small Adult (21"), and Large Adult (23". The large adult size is also available for free on my blog at https://kickincrochet.com/stella-hat-crochet-pattern. For my sample, I used super soft baby alpaca yarn - Herriot from Juniper Moon Farm, which I LOVE. It's so so soft! Any DK yarn should work fine.
