So I wanted to create a sweater that would have some new techniques to learn and combine. I love playing with color and texture and this pullover has got it all! A classic circular yoke sweater that helps build your knitting skill set with simple two color brioche and stranded color work.* **DETAILS** This sweater is knit from the top down, in the round, with a folded collar, two color brioche yoke and stranded colorwork body and sleeves. You will separate the sleeves placing them on hold while the body is finished with a simple slip stitch textured pattern. The sleeves are then returned to the needle, picking up stitches for the underarm for a totally seamless sweater! **SIZES** 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9) #sizeinclusive **FINISHED BUST CIRCUMFERENCE** 32.5 (37, 41, 45, 50)(54, 58.5, 62.5, 67.5)” 82.5 (94, 104, 114.5, 127)(137, 148.5, 159, 171.5) cm *Recommended ease is 0-5”/0-12.5 cm; sample is shown in Size 2 on a 34”/86.5 cm bust with 3”/7.5 cm positive ease.* #sizeinclusive **YARN REQUIREMENTS** *These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.* Light fingering weight (272 yds/50 g) MC - 778 (877, 957, 1068, 1193)(1300, 1417, 1553, 1710) yds 143 (162, 176, 197, 220)(239, 261, 285, 315) g CC - Fingering/Sport Weight (200 yds/approx. 50 g) 200 (226, 246, 275, 307)(335, 365, 400, 440) yds 50 (56, 61, 68, 76)(83, 91, 100, 110) g *The main color yarn used for this pattern is a light woolen spun yarn. Please note that if you are substituting a worsted spun yarn the yardage should be similar, but you will use more grams. I recommend using the yardage as your guide and buying an extra skein if you are concerned about running short. I love how light, yet warm, a woolen spun yarn is and find they give a similar result to what I might expect when buying a ready to wear sweater. For the contrast color, I let my yarn choice do the work for me! Instead of using a solid or multiple solids to create a shift in colors, the yarn I chose has long gradual changes in color that add excitement during the knitting process and add interest to the finished garment.* **SUGGESTED YARN** MC - Biches & Bûches Le Cashmere & Lambswool (272 yds/50 g) - 3 (4, 4, 4, 5)(5, 6, 6, 7) skeins Dark Grey CC - Spincycle Dyed in the Wool (200 yds/approx. 50 g) - 1 (2, 2, 2, 2)(2, 2, 2, 3) skein/s Castaway **SUGGESTED NEEDLES** Main Fabric: US 5/3.75 mm - 24”/60 cm to 40”/100 cm circular and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (Magic Loop or DPNs) Brioche: US 4/3.5 mm - 24”/60 cm to 32”/80 cm circular for yoke Ribbing: US 3/3.25 mm - 16”/40 cm circular for collar, 24”/60 cm to 40”/100 cm for hem and preferred needles for small circumference knitting for cuffs *Sleeve Fabric: US 6/4 mm - Preferred needles for small circumference knitting *see Notes on Pg. 3 Small crochet hook for Provisional cast on *(Use the needle size you need to achieve and maintain gauge.)* **NOTIONS** Stitch marker, row counter (recommended), scissors, waste yarn for provisional cast, and waste yarn or stitch holders for sleeves **GAUGE** 23 sts x 32 rnds = 4”/10 cm on Main Fabric needle, measured over Body Stitch Pattern in the round after blocking. 22 sts = 4”/10 cm on Brioche needle, measured over two color brioche in the round, after blocking. **TECHNIQUES TO INDULGE IN** Provisional cast on Ribbing Folded collar Knitting Purling Two color brioche Stranded colorwork Increasing Decreasing Binding off Picking up stitches **YARN SUBSTITUTION IDEAS** [Click here to be directed to a pdf with some yarn substitution ideas!
