Meraki •Greek• may-rah-kee (n.) when you put something of yourself into your work by adding soul, creativity and love When we crochet we put a piece of ourself into everything we make by choosing the colors we love, by adding our own personal touches to the pattern, and by spending our precious creative time. Every stitch, out of many stitches, is crocheted with thought and the careful movement of our hands. When we are finished, our piece is a beautiful collection of these thoughts and movements. My Meraki scarf is an easy-to-wear shallow triangular shape that is crocheted sideways from tip to tip followed by a narrow edging. The stitch pattern is an easy four-row repeat throughout the main body of the scarf and the edging is a simple and easy stitch pattern as well. And, Meraki is a one skein project! I used one skein the lovely, soft Manos del Uruguay Alegria that is a fingering weight hand-dyed yarn (445 yards). Be sure to check out the Alegria yarn and all of the beautiful colorways. Make the scarf with tassels or without tassels. The scarf looks great either way. Of course you will need less yarn, about 400 yards, if you choose to not add the tassels. Just think of all of the stitches within a piece that you crochet, and remember that you put something of yourself and a little love into each and every stitch! **Copyright CJ Brady Designs 2020**
