Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. **NOTIONS** Stitch marker (1), stitch holder or waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving in ends. **GAUGE** 26 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette st with 3.25 mm / US 3 needle, after blocking. **NOTES AND TECHNIQUES** This sweater is knitted in the round from the top down. The yoke is worked with yarn-over increases and slipped stitches in a contrasting colour to make this a light-weight colourwork design. Most fair isle style colourwork designs look good with wool yarns that evenly fill the spaces between stitches. The colourwork in this design is made with slipped stitches, so it is possible to knit this sweater using a summer yarn that is not as plump and stretchy as wool. The back of the sweater is shaped with German short rows. Tubular cast-on and bind-off are used in the sample. If you prefer, you may cast on using the regular long-tail method.
